Highlights: After completing nurse training at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney in 1916, Rita joined the AANS on 10 May 1917 and sailed for Egypt then Salonika Greece. Arrived at 50th General Hospital (British) on 12 Aug 1917 and served until she was medically discharged with Malaria, returning to Australia on 22 Dec 1918 on the HMT Leicestershire. Discharged on 15 Feb 1919. Rita married Dr Frances J McCarthy, in Sydney in 1919. She died in Goulburn in 1943.
