Highlights: Enlisted on 14 Feb 1942 at 25 years of age, and sent to Batlow. Moved to Leeton on 19 April 1942, Hillston 10 Jul 1943, Bathurst 28 Oct 1944, spent a month at Richmond in January 1945 cutting corn for the Americans, before being sent to Berri (SA), on 8 Feb 1945, to pick grapes. She also went to Griffith on 6 Apr 1945 and to a mixed farm at Narrandera on 7 May 1945 before being discharged on 21 Dec 1945. Ethel married Dudley Francis Cooper in Crookwell in 1948.
