Highlights: Gwenneth enlisted on 18 Feb 1943 aged 18 years, and after completing basic training, was posted as an office orderly to 7 Flight Training School Deniliquin, before being posted to No2 Fighter Sector HQ, New Lambton. She was then posted to Air Force HQ in Melbourne in the Records section, before going to No 10 Empire Flight Training School Temora, No 5 Aircraft Depot Forest Hill and finally 5 RAAF Hospital Tocumwal as staff. Gwen was discharged on 4 Dec 1945 and returned to her family home in Robertson Street Crookwell. Gwen married Norman James Dean in Chatswood, Sydney in 1950. Norman had served as a Pilot in the RAAF and they had both served at this unit during 1944.
