Highlights: Miriel’s parents lived in Crookwell when she enlisted on 5 Mar 1942 aged 35 years. Her father was a dentist and as well as having driven a car for 14 years, she had been her father’s dental nurse for 4 years. She had also been the Secretary, Crookwell Branch CWA for 1 year. After initial training at Robertson, she was sent to 5 SFTS at Uranquinty as a driver arriving 8 Apr 1942. On 15 July 1942 she was posted to 3 STT, Ultimo as a driver, where she remained until discharge on 6 Sep 1944 and returned to her parent’s home. Miriel was living in Albury in 1954 when she received her General Service Badge.
