Highlights: Edith trained at Rockhampton Hospital finishing her training in 1910. She joined AANS on 7 Dec 1916 and sailed for England on 29 Dec 1916. Then went to France for duty with 10 General Hospital (Rouen) on 14 Mar 1917 and 25th General Hospital (Pas de Calais) on 16 Jul 1917. Returned to England and worked at 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital Harefield until returning to Aust as Nursing Staff on the Troopship SS Aeneas. Discharged on 21 Aug 1919. Edith Married Albert Hearne Howard from Bigga, at Mosman in 1921 and died in Goulburn in 1971. Edith’s younger sister Catherine also trained at Rockhampton Hospital and Joined the AANS on 27 Dec 1916. The sisters do not appear to have served together.
